Beauty & the Beast

In 2016 the Beauty and The Beast Cattle Show became a reality and is held the second weekend in May. A group of families from across the county developed a spring cattle show. In conjunction with this show, there was a bull-buck off on Saturday evening in hopes of drawing people to the McPherson County Fairgrounds for an event different from the normal.

The first year for the event brought 75 head of cattle and 45 exhibitors. In 2017 the show was merged with the McPherson Spring 4-H Beef event to host a two day show at the fairgrounds. Since then, the show has done nothing but grow and the decision to phase out the bull buck off was made so that it focused on the beef show and its exhibitors.

2020 brought the pandemic and the event was pushed to June and both shows were combined to one day, but that was the biggest show yet. In 2021 the Beauty and The Beast Cattle Show returned to the second weekend in May and added a bull show on Saturday. The numbers were awesome with 260 head of cattle and 85 exhibitors walking through the Bradbury Show Arena.

Thank you to all the sponsors who helped make this our best show yet!
